68.1(1) A council of a municipality may order a plebiscite on the matter of a proposed change of name of the municipality.
68.1(2) A plebiscite referred to in subsection (1) shall be held in accordance with subsection 68(2).
68.1(3) When sixty per cent of those who vote in a plebiscite under this section do so in the affirmative, the council shall
forthwith recommend to the Minister that the name of the municipality be changed by the Lieutenant-Governor in Council.
68.1(4)
Notwithstanding any other Act, upon the recommendation of the Minister, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council may by order change the name of the municipality making the recommendation.
